Empowering Young Individuals
CAMHS – Child & Adolescent Mental Health
At Swift Psychology we have extensive experience in supporting children and young people with their emotional well-being. Our Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) uses a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach to treatment. CBT is an effective talking therapy for many different conditions and supports young people in developing healthy responses to challenging situations. Our CAMHS therapists empower young people to overcome their difficulties in a compassionate, non-judgemental and supportive environment.

What does treatment involve?
The aim of CBT is to challenge unhelpful patterns, either in our way of thinking or how we behave, and to replace them with more positive patterns and responses. CBT teaches lifelong skills and effective coping strategies. CBT requires children and young people to complete tasks in between sessions, ensuring a wide range of skills and strategies are being practiced in real-world scenarios.
How Effective is CBT treatment?
Studies have shown CBT to be very effective for children and young people and it has grown in popularity over the years. CBT has also been shown to be an effective way of treating several different mental health conditions, whilst being able to adapt to learning difficulties, ADHD, and autism.
63% of young people experienced significant improvements in anxiety conditions following CBT.
